Culver Indiana Photography: CCHS Varsity Softball vs. Glenn

It took me a few attempts due to bad locations, poor weather, and general scheduling conflicts… but yesterday afternoon, I finally managed to shoot the Culver Community School Corporation (CCHS) Varsity Softball Team as they played Glenn High School. The weather was nice, but the wind was strong and the clouds kept coming in. The girls played hard, but Glenn was a tough opponent. I don’t know what the final score was, but it appeared as though the CCHS women improved with each inning and as they got into the groove of the game. I’ve posted some photos here. Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA JV Softball vs. John Glenn

This afternoon, I had to decide between shooting the CGA JV Softball game or the CMA Varsity Baseball game. As this was the first home game for the Culver JV Softball team, I decided to shoot their game.  Their season is shorter than many of the other teams so I wanted to get photos of them while I had the chance.

It was a beautiful night, sunny and not too hot, in Culver for the CGA Eagles’ first JV Softball game of the season as they hosted John Glenn High School. The girls played their hearts out and had a lot of fun and showed great sportsmanship even though they didn’t get the result they wanted. The Culver’s JV Softball team is a very new team. I’m told that they have a few girls playing that have never played softball before. Knowing this, I stopped paying attention to the score and focused on how the girls played and interacted with one another as a team. From my vantage point, they seemed to get along and still enjoy the game. And, they have the groundwork to come together as a team. I’ve posted a few of my favorite photos here. Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball vs. South Bend Adams

This evening, the CGA Varsity softball team hosted South Bend Adams in Culver. This is one of those games where I’m not going to report the score because it was not good. From the beginning, the CGA Eagles looked tired and worn out. I’m told that this is their 4th or 5th game in the past 7 days. I’d love to see the girls get some down time but with another game tomorrow, one on Thursday, and one on Saturday, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen this week. I’ve posted some photos here; there more are at http://www.culverphotos.com/p435526442. Hang tough lady Eagles!

Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball vs. South Bend Washington

This afternoon, the CGA Varsity Softball team played their first home game against South Bend Washington High School. Due to other commitments this afternoon, I could only stay for parts of the game, but what I saw, both teams played well. I’ve posted some photos here; there are more at http://www.culverphotos.com/p1020393564.

Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball

The last home game of the CGA Varsity softball team was a hot day. Coaches Brook Wheeler and Katie Maroney invited me to take some shots of the team. Those girls are great softball players! I did not grow up playing baseball or softball, but I could tell within minutes that this team challenged every team they played this season. From the pitcher to the fielders and up-to-bat moments, I witnessed a class-act team. Congrats to both the team and coaches for a great season. I look forward to shooting this team in the upcoming season.
