Culver Indiana Senior Pictures: Brock Elliot Senior Photos

300_7721

This afternoon, Ginny and I had the opportunity to shoot Culver Community High School senior Brock Elliott. If the name sounds familiar, it is because we photographed Brock’s cousin Kirsten several weeks ago. Brock decided to shoot in two different shirts and in his varsity football jersey. We also shot in two locations, which allowed us to take advantage of different back drops and lighting scenarios.  Family friends (the Bendy family) of the Elliotts were generous enough to offer their lake property for our second location. Mike (Brock’s dad) has known the Bendy family since his childhood. He and his dad did the lanscape work at this lake house. They did an amazing job, creating one of the most beautiful settings on the lake. And, the house sits at one of the highest points on the lake, creating a dramtic effect that leads from the house to the lake. Ginny and I were impressed by the layers of plants, the colors, and the way everything brought out the beauty of the house and the lake. Here are some shots of Brock who will be heading to college in the Fall.

Meet the Kime family. While taking Momo Kim’s senior pictures, we decided to capture a few of the family. Mrs. Kime needed a family shot, so we took a handful of shots.

Culver Indiana Senior Photos: Momo Kime

This past weekend, Ginny and I shot two Culver Academy seniors after the Garrison Parade. The weather was great and these guys were good sports as we lead them around campus looking for new and creative places to shoot them. I’m sure that they would have rather been with their families on Mother’s Day.

If you’ve been following my blogs, you might recognize Momo from the Fall Football photos. He was one of the team captains and the Center. He also played defense, so he shows up in a couple thousand photos from the season. This Spring, I’ve been trying to get photos of Momo in lacrosse. Unfortunately though, he is one of the defensive men. (In their home games, the ball seldom ends up on that end of the field.)

Momo’s final rank for the year is Battalian Commander, which is one of the highest ranks that a cadet can achieve. Next year, he’ll start all over again as a new cadet, as he will be attending West Point. I’m sure Momo will excel at West Point.

Culver Academy Baseball Photos: CMA Baseball Senior Banner Photos

Today, I shot the five seniors of the CMA Baseball Team for their Senior banners that will be presented during the upcoming Culver Academies Parent’s Weekend. Following are some pictures that I ended up with before editing and submission to the company that prints and creates the banners.

Culver Indiana Wedding Photographer: Jennifer and Joe Wedding

This afternoon, Ginny and I traveled to a private residence between Culver and Knox to shoot the wedding of Jennifer and Joe. It had rained all morning, but we did get some outdoor shots in between the downpours of rain. The ceremony was held in doors, and Jennifer had the theme of butterflies incorporated into her wedding decorations. You’ll see a couple of those show up in the pictures.

Culver Indiana Photographer: Overton Family Shoot

As noted in the other blog entry, today, we shot the engagement photos for Desiree and Dustin who will be getting married in June. This selection of pictures includes their son Gabe, a beautiful, sweet-natured boy who loves his mom and dad. Gabe is a happy child. He wasn’t sure what the camera was all about, but his parents managed to get him to ham it up for us. His aunt Dee helped out, too, as she has a way of getting Gabe to smile.

Culver Indiana Senior Pictures: Kirsten Senior Pictures

Today, Ginny and I photographed Kirsten, and senior at Culver Girls Academy here in Culver, Indiana. We had Culver’s campus all to ourselves, as students were on Spring break. Kirsten donned her Dress As, her Varsity sweater, and a casual outfit. We were impressed by how many gold As she had on her blazer! Kirsten rows for the crew team, so we took a few shots by the naval building and in the water. We had a great time with her and her mom. Thank you both for your laid back attitude and kindness. Ginny and I enjoyed meeting both of you, and we think Kirsten is as beautiful inside as she is outside. Best of luck next year in college, Kirsten!

Culver Indiana Wedding Photographer: Jennifer and Joe Engagement Session

Today, Ginny and I shot engagement photos for Jennifer and Joe, a couple whose wedding we will be shooting in a few weeks. The weather was beautiful and their property in the country couldn’t have been a better backdrop for some outdoor photos. We had fun shooting the two of them as they are such a warm and friendly couple to be around. As I hope the photos reflect, Jennifer and Joe have a lot of love and respect for one another and I’m sure that their marriage will go far. Between being around them for a few hours and having our first all outdoor shoot of the Spring, Ginny and I had a great time. Ginny’s comments was, “This couple belongs together.” We love it when we see that in a couple that is about to marry.

Culver Indiana Senior Pictures: Sdao Senior Pictures

Today, Ginny and I shot Culver Academy senior Jonathon Sdao at the Culver Memorial Legion Building and on the shores of Lake Maxinkuckee. Jonathon was a patient, willing sport throughout the shoot. Getting the lighting just right in the Legion Building took some trial and error and a whole lot of adjustments to get the results that we wanted. (For those not familiar with the building, it is an older building with stone walls throughout. It is a beautiful building though it does preset some challenges for photographers.) We managed though and ended up with some great shots. We wish Jonathon and his family the best as they bid Culver farewell in the coming months.

Plymouth Indiana Baby Photographer: Mollie

Today, Ginny and I went to Plymouth, Indiana to photograph baby Mollie, the grandchild of a friend of Ginny’s sister Julie. Parents Amy and Chris wanted to get some shots of Mollie for Christmas. Mollie was a great baby and would have no part of sleeping for this photo shoot. We hoped to get some photos of her sleeping, but as long as company was in the house, Mollie would have no part of sleeping. Mollie gave us plenty to work with, as she’s a bright, alert baby who followed her mom and the lens. A few times, she looked so directly at the lens that I thought I was working with a model. She was amazing to capture. We enjoyed working with Amy, Chris, and baby Mollie and hope to capture the next stage of Mollie’s childhood. We know she’ll be a beautiful toddler, as she’s a sweet and pretty baby now.
