Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CMA JV Lacrosse vs. Rockhurst Jesuit

This morning, the CMA JV Lacrosse team played the JV team from Rockhurst Jesuit. This team traveled to Culver with their Varsity team that played Culver last night. The skies were cloudy, but the game was rain-free, unlike other games played this weekend. Due to other sporting events, I was only able to watch half the game. What I did see showed that Culver would bring home the victory. In addition to the photos posted here, there are more photos at http://www.culverphotos.com/p675592401.

Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CMA Varsity Lacrosse vs. Rockhurst Jesuit

This evening, the CMA VAarsity Lacrosse hosted Rockhurst Jesuit for a Friday night game under the lights on Oliver Field overlooking Lake Maxinkuckee. What a game it was! I think that some higher power must have know that it was Parent’s Weekend for Culver Academies because things couldn’t have worked out better for Culver. For starters, it rained hard before the game. I actually waited in car trying to decide if I wanted to risk getting my gear wet. The closer we got to the 7:00 PM start time, the lighter the rain got. Protecting my camera with a Storm Jacket, I decided to brave the cold and rain, and headed onto the field with a few minutes to spare. Within 5 minutes of the game starting, the rain completely ended. (On another note, the rain started up again within 15 muntes of the game ending.)

Enough about the weather. The game was interesting to say the least. Rockhurst Jesuit played hard and fast and quickly managed a 5-0 lead. Things were looking grim for the CMA Eagles. Our team looked slow and passive. In the second quarter, with three or four minutes left, Culver’s coach called a timeout after 2 or 3 quick scores by Rockhurst. I don’t know what was said, but the team that took to the field afterwards was a different team. Culver was aggressive and probably had 15 shots on Rockhurst’s goal in those last minutes of the first half. One scored ending the half at 1-to-5.

During the halftime break, I commented to someone near me that if Culver could play as well in the second half as they did the the last 3 minutes of the first half, we actually had a chance. In the sceond half, Culver did play that well or even better. Culver came back from a 1-to-5 deficit to a 9-to-5 lead. The final score was Culver 9, Rockhurst Jesuit 6. They say, “Never give up,” and that’s what the Culver Eagles obviously believed on this day.

Culver Academy Baseball Photos: CMA Varsity Baseball vs. West Central

This evening, the CMA Varsity Baseball team played West Central High School on Culver Academies’ campus. After a late start due to bus troubles, the game got started on a beuatiful evening with both teams appearing to be evenly matched. Unfortunately, due to donkey basketball (and yes, I really did say donkey basketball) at the  Culver Community High School, I could not stay for very much of the game. I’ve posted some photos here. More photos are located at http://www.culverphotos.com/p105065467.

For anyone interested in my recap from the donkey basketball, please view my blog entry from that event or the photos located at www.culverphotos.com/donkeybasketball.

Culver Academy Tennis Photos: CGA Tennis vs. Crown Point

This eveing, the CGA Tennis Team hosted Crwon Point in a match at Culver Academies. I wish that I could tell you how the girls played, but tennis is one of those sports that I know very little about. With 12 to 14 games being played at once, I think that even if I knew tennis better, I still probably wouldn’t be able to provide an acurate account until everything was over and stat sheets were available. I’ve posted some photos here; there are more at www.culverphotos.com/p398667049.

Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball vs. South Bend Adams

This evening, the CGA Varsity softball team hosted South Bend Adams in Culver. This is one of those games where I’m not going to report the score because it was not good. From the beginning, the CGA Eagles looked tired and worn out. I’m told that this is their 4th or 5th game in the past 7 days. I’d love to see the girls get some down time but with another game tomorrow, one on Thursday, and one on Saturday, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen this week. I’ve posted some photos here; there more are at http://www.culverphotos.com/p435526442. Hang tough lady Eagles!

Culver Academy Baseball Photos: CMA JV Baseball vs. Argos high School

This morning, the CMA Eagles hosted Argos High School in a double header JV Baseball game at Culver. It was a beautiful day, though the bright sun caused some problems for the outfielders. Both teams played well and appeared to be evenly matched. I’ve posted some photos here; there are more at http://www.culverphotos.com/p327818835.

Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CMA Varsity Lacrosse vs. Westfield

After several away games, the CMA Eagles Varsity Lacrosse team hosted the lacrosse team of Westfield High School. It was a beautiful day, though a little chilly, and the game was played on the Academy Football field overlooking Lake Maxinkuckee. Culver Academy dominated the entire game with an easy win over Westfield High School. The final score with Culver-15 Westfield-4. If Culver plays this well the rest of the season, they should easily place at the State Tournament in May. I’ve posted some photos here; there are over 200 located at http://www.culverphotos.com/p310123399.

Culver Indiana Photographer: Relay For Life 2010

Ginny and I attended Relay for Life as photographers this year. We are donating all purchased pictures to Relay for Life. Following are scenes from what turned out to be a great evening. The guest of honor was Adam Vinatieri who was a gracious person. He spoke at the event and then walked several laps. He also signed footballs and talked to several of the participants. Several keynote speakers, including survivors spoke at the event. Last I heard, they were getting close to their goal for this year’s event. If you want to purchase pictures, visit Culverphotos.com and look under Community Events.

Culver Academy Baseball Photos: CMA JV Baseball vs. Boone Grove

Tonight, the Culver Academy Eagles played JV Baseball  against Boone Grove High School. Due to another game and fading light, I was unable to watch the entire game. What I did see was an exciting game against two evenly matched teams. I’ve posted some photos here; there are many more at http://www.culverphotos.com/p472805251.
