Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CMA U16 Hockey vs. Queen City Steam
Tonight, the CMA Eagles U16 hockey team hosted the first game of the 2009-2010 season against the Queen City Steam in Culver, Indiana. It was an exciting, fun game to watch. The kids played well as a team and won 7-1. What a great start to the season! For more photos, please visit www.culverphotos.com.
Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CGA U19 Hockey vs. Victory Honda
This evening the CGA U19 Girls Hockey team played their first game of the 2009-2010 season at Culver Academy in the Henderson Ice Rink against the Victory Honda hockey team. The girls battled hard throughout the game, but they couldn’t hold off the other team. The final score was 2 to 4. During the game, a young lady on the opposing team was injured, causing a delay while waiting on EMTs. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Our prayers go out to her, her family, and her teammates. There are more photos located at www.culverphotos.com.
Culver Academy Football Photos: CMA Varsity Football Sectionals
Today, we shot our last CMA Varsity football game of the season. The Eagles played their hearts out for the last game, but the talented Andrean team overcame the Eagles for the win. The rest of the photos are at www.culverphotos.com. All football pictures are 15% off until December 1. We look forward to seeing the team next season. We were honored to be on the sidelines with them this season. Great job, guys!
Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CMA Hockey Prep Team
This evening was the much anticipated first game for Culver Academy’s 2009-2010 Hockey team. The Prep team of the CMA Eagles traveled to South Bend to open the season. Once again, coach Al Clark has produced a world-class team that will be difficult to defeat and fun to watch. The kids played hard and won the game with a final score of 8 to 2. I’ve posted my favorite photos here though there are hundreds more located on www.culverphotos.com.
Culver Academy Football Photos: CMA Sectional Victory over New Prairie
The CMA Eagles won their Sectional Championship game! And what a game it was. The Eagles shut out New Prairie for a 14-0 win. All of the Culver Eagles’ points came in the first quarter making the other three quarters an intense game. As you can see in the pictures, it was a rainy, muddy game. The defensive team had one of the best games of the season. At least three times, they held the other team from scoring when they were within 15 yards of the goal line. Each time New Prairie tried for the fourth down score or first down, the defense stopped them. The defense has held the other teams scoreless in tournament play. If they continue to do so, we’ll go all the way!
Ginny and I enjoyed taking the photographs of this football team all season, and we are thrilled we got to photograph their victory in the Sectionals. Go Eagles! For more photos, you can visit www.culverphotos.com. There are over 500 photographs uploading there. It will take 24 hours for the photos to upload, but by end of weekend, you can see what an exciting game this one was.
Culver Academy Football Photos: CMA JV Football vs. John Adams
Today, Ginny and I photographed the JV Football team’s game against South Bend Adams. The Culver JV team played hard in rainy conditions, and I have to admit that it felt a lot colder than upper 50s. I wore four layers of clothes and could have used another layer. We got wet, but we enjoyed watching the game. We saw the Culver Eagles’ quarterbacks get hit pretty hard into today’s game, as Adams is a physical team. The Eagles weren’t successful, but they played hard. One of Ginny’s favorite players is Austin Pegg, number 11. I’ve given Austin the “front cover” of this blog entry because Ginny thinks the drive he led in the third quarter was the best one of the game. Austin may look small, but “he is big on talent,” as Ginny would say.
Culver Academy Volleyball Photos: CGA JV Volleyball
What a couple of fun games to watch. This evening, the Girls JV and Varsity Volleyball teams hosted LaVille at Culver Academy. All the teams were very well matched with close scores in all the games. In the games that I watched, you had no idea who was actually going to win until the final volley. Below are some posts from the JV game. I’ve posted other photos from the game at www.culverphotos.com.
Culver Academy Football Photos: CMA Varsity Football vs. Brebeuf
It is a proud day to be an Eagle. This evening the Culver Academy Eagles varsity football team hosted Brebeuf High School. The Eagles played a great game and won the game with a final score of 28 to 13. The highlight of the game was when Culver returned a kick for a touchdown after allowing Brebeuf’s first score. This quickly quieted Berbeuf’s crowd. Both teams played a hard-fought game with some great passes, blocking, and running. As hard as the opposing team fought, I thought it would have been an even closer game, but Culver’s defense didn’t give much up. Ginny sat in the stands for a few minutes of the game and commented on how involved the crowd was in the game. It was a great game! To see more photos, visit www.culverphotos.com.
Culver Academy Football Photos: CMA Varsity Football Game
It’s a great day to be an Eagle! Culver Military Academy’s Eagles had its first 2009 football game today. Unfortunately, it was raining and I didn’t want to damage my camera, so I got off only a handful of shots. One of my favorite things to do as a photographer is shoot sporting events at both Culver Academies and Culver Community schools. Parents are rightfully wrapped up in watching the game and seeing their child play that they are often without a camera or the patience to shoot the game. I love shooting just about any sporting event and have met some great coaches and parents in the process.
Recently, I started shooting the sporting events with Nikon’s 70-200 mm F2.8 lens. It’s built for action, and I’m absolutely addicted to using it. Ginny and I will be shooting a lot of sporting events this school year. Catch up on any games you miss at www.culverphotos.com. In this set, I did catch Zach Deery as he scored a touchdown after an amazing return kick. He went the full length of the field and had some great blocks from teammates to make the score. It was impressive, even in the rain.
