CMA Varsity Football vs. Sheridan
What a fun football game the Friday night CMA Varsity football game was against Sheridan High School. It was Senior Night where they recognize the football and cheerleader seniors. The Spirit of Culver looked great. The CMA Drill Team performed during halftime. The weather was nice and wasn’t too hot or too cold. It was a great evening, a fun night, and a day that we were all proud to be an Eagle.
Culver Academy dominated the game, easily winning 42-21. As always, I took photos of EVERYTHING. I’ve posted some of my favorites here. Other photos are located at:
Engagement Portrait Session: Bethany and Tommy
A few weeks ago, Ginny and I photographed Bethany and Tommy for an engagement session. They will be getting married at Culver Academies next summer. Ginny and I will be photographing the wedding. We are looking forward to it, as these two people are great to work with and so easy going. We took some photos down by the park where they were engaged, and we also went over to campus to get some Chapel shots. We are looking forward to wedding day of these two!
Fall Parent’s Weekend CGA Varsity Soccer vs. Westview
A couple of weeks ago was the CGA Varsity soccer team final home game that included recognition for the team’s seniors. Given that it was last time the girls would play on Culver’s campus together, as a team, it was an emotional day for everyone.
The girls played hard but with several players out due to injuries, they could not pull out a victory.
I’ve posted some photos here. Additional photos are located at:
Fall Parent’s Weekend CMA Varsity Soccer vs. Portage
Over Fall Parent’s Weekend, the Culver Academy Boys Varsity Soccer Team played their last home game of the season against Portage. The weather was nice and the CMA Eagles played well. They won 3 to 1.

Culver Invitational Cross Country Meet
This past weekend, Culver Academies hosted their annual cross country invitational on campus. I don’t know how the runners focus on their race when part of the race path goes along the beautiful shores of Lake Maxinkuckee. I think I’d have to stop and take it all in, but these young people have a way of staying focused. The invitational has grown over the years into one of the largest cross country events in the Midwest with over 3,000 runners competing. If you’ve never had the chance to observe it, I’d recommend watching it one of these years. Just seeing the traffic of cars coming into the town and campus was an amazing thing to see. The tournament is an energy-filled day with a lot going on. Seeing all of the colorful tents to mark each team’s “camp” is a sight to behold, as they are all over campus. A BIG, BIG, BIG hats off to Coach Chastain who organizes this event every year. He pulls it off in an organized, safe fashion.
Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell mother nature that this event was going on. The weather did not cooperate. It rained quite hard for a portion of the day, which limited the photos that I was able to get. Between wet gear, water spots on my lens, and a fogged lens, I was unable to get photos from several of the races. However, I did attempt to capture what I could. I have posted some photos here. Friday Night Football: CMA Eagles vs. Brebeuf
What a fun football game last Friday night’s was…or at least it was up until the end. The weather was perfect as it wasn’t too hot or too cold. The cadets looked in step and professional during their march-on. The CMA Eagles were lead onto Oliver Field by the Old Guard who had returned to campus to celebrate a reunion. The Spirit of Culver looked great. (I was a Trooper when I attended Culver so I can appreciate when horses participate in the sports world.) The cheerleaders were energetic and put on some great performances that made for some photo opps with a cool blue sky in the background as the sun went down. During halftime, the Dancevision team performed for the crowd. In the second half of the game, the cheerleaders gave away noise makers to the Eagles fans who added to the excitment of the game. It was a really fun night…except for the score.
The Eagles started off with a bang. They quickly put a 14-to-0 score on the board. Unfortunately, the momentum turned. Culver fought hard all the way to the end, but they couldn’t maintain the lead.

At the previous link, I’ve created subdirectories from the game to make it easier to locate photos. These include: Game, Cheerleaders, Dancevision, Spirit of Culver, Crowd, Tunnel, and March On.
CMA JV Soccer
Saturday morning, the CMA JV Soccer team hosted a four-team tournament at Culver Academies. Culver did quite well and won both of their games. They also won the overall tournament. I’ve posted some photos here. Other photos are located at:
Indiana Sports Photographer: CMA JV Football vs. New Prairie
Earlier this week, I photographed the CMA JV football team as they hosted a game against New Prairie High School at Culver Academies. I couldn’t stay for the whole game, but the team ended the first half in the lead. I’ve posted some photos here. Additional photos are posted at:
CGA Varsity Soccer vs. Winamac
This past weekend, the CGA Varsity Soccer team hosted Wawasee High School for a Saturday afternoon game. Culver started the game on a a positive note with Amber Cowell scoring the first goal of the game in the first two minutes of the game. Both teams played well as was reflective of a few lead changes. Ultimately, the CGA Eagles won.

CGA Volleyball vs. Winamac
Saturday moring was a big day for the volleyball teams of Culver Academies. All three teams–the freshman team, the JV team, and the varsity team–played Winamac High School. The morning started off with the CGA freshman team struggling against Winamac. After the two freshman games, CGA rebounded by winning the remaining 5 games of the day. The CGA JV team won both of their games as did the Varsity team, which won their three games. As you can tell in the pictures, the girls seem to have fun when they play, and they play well as a team. I think this contributes to their successes on the court. It’s a lot of fun capturing their team spirit.
I’ve posted pictures from all three games here. For more photos, please visit the following links:
