Indiana Children’s Photography: Eliza and Avery
On Friday, Ginny and I shot two of our favorite subjects: Eliza and Avery. These sisters are beautiful, full of energy, and a lot of fun to hang with behind a camera. Their mom Wendy had them dressed in sun dresses given our high 70s weather. She also staged a picnic on Culver Academies’ campus in front of the lake. The girls were so interested in the nearby rock, lake, and field that they didn’t want much to do with the picnic area we set up, but we did manage to get some keepers. We had a great time capturing them as they played, each in their own world, and a few times with each other. Eliza liked the bright flowers and rock most, but she was cooperative when we asked her to follow Avery, so that we could get both in the same shot. Avery liked running in the grass and by the lake and in her bare feet, she was adorable discovering the open spaces around her. We often say that kids make the best subjects. In these pictures, you can see why. These girls are a joy to be around and we look forward to every shoot with them.
Indiana Sports Photography: CCHS Volleyball vs. New Prairie
On Thursday night, the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams from Culver Community High School played New Pairie High School in Culver. In additiona to the games, there was also a ceremony to honor the two CCHS Seniors on the team.
The girls from Culver played hard, but New Praire proved to be a tough opponent and won both matches. I’ve posted a few photos here. Other are located at:

Indiana Sports Photography: Culver Middle School Football
Earlier this week, the Culver Middle School Football team played Jimtown Middle School. The boys played hard and I got some great photos. I was told that this is young team for Culver where many of the players are new to the game. Regardless, I think that boys did a good job and never gave up. I’ve posted some photos here. Indiana Sports Photography: CMA Intersquad Lacrosse
To wrap up the Culver Academy’s Parent’s Weekend, the CMA Lacrosse teams played an interquad game on their field overlooking Lake Maxinkuckee. The weather was nice, the kids played hard, and a good sized crowd cheered them on. It was a lot of fun and a great way to end a big weekend. The game was a high scoring game with no dominate side, as the teams were picked by the team captains. After each goal, the teams performed little routines that could be best described as “excessive celebration,” which had the fans laughing. I can tell you this–Culver won. Beyond that, I’m sorry that I wasn’t paying close enough attention to say whether Maroon or White won. Regardless, it was fun and something more teams should do in their off seasons. I’ve posted some photos here. Others are located at:
Indiana Sports Photography: CMA Varsity Football vs. Churubusco
Saturday was a beautiful afternoon for a football game . The CMA Eagles played their hearts out against the undefeated team from Churubusco High School and led most of the game much to the surprise of the players and fans on the opposing team. I’m not sure if it was the energy of a home game during Parent’s Weekend or the fact that it was a daytime game, but I’ve never seen a team come together as a team as they did. Unfortunately, the momentum changed for the Eagles during the fourth quater. Churubusco scored two touchdowns and took the victory. Still, I think the Eagles played their best of the season, and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow as a team. I’ve posted some photos here. Other are located at:
Indiana Sports Photography: CGA Freshman Volleyball
The other day, the CGA Freshman Volleyball team hosted Northridge High School at Culver Girls Academy. It was a fun game to watch even though the girls couldn’t pull out a win. Both games were very close and either team could have won. I’ve posted some photos here. Others are located at:
Indiana Sports Photography: CCHS Varsity Football vs. Jimstown
Friday Night Football at its finest! Last night I photographed the Culver Cavaliers as their Varsity team played against Jimtown High School in Culver, Indiana. It was a great game to watch and CCHS played extremely well considering their team appeared to have about half the number of players as Jimtown. Watching the game, the score could have gone either way as there was’nt a dominant team. Unfortunately, Culver Community couldn’t pull out the win. The final score: Culver-14 Jimtown- 21. Great effort, Culver. You worked hard and it’s obvious why you are having such a successful season! I’ve posted some photos here. Other photos are located at:
Indiana Sports Photography: CMA Varsity Soccer vs. Argos High School
In the second game of the evening, the Culver Varsity Soccer Team played Argos High School at Culver Academies. The CMA Eagles played well, but some struggles in the first half put them too far behind to overcome Argos in the second half. With a couple of scores late in the second half, Culver showed promise and heart. The final score was Culver-2 Argos-3. I’ve posted some photos here. Others are located at:
Indiana Sports Photography: CMA JV Soccer vs. Argos High School
Yesterday, the first soccer game of the day played on Culver Academies’ campus was between the JV teams teams from CMA and Argos High School. It was a fun game to watch as neither team dominated the game. The ball spent equal time on both ends of the field. Ultimately, Culver Military Academy did win. The final score: Culver-3, Argos-0. I’ve posted some photos here. Other photos are located at:
Culver Senior Photos: Andrew Eiler
Yesterday, we had a photoshoot with Andre Eiler, a senior at Culver Military Academy. Andrew is a golfer and looking forward to the golf season this Spring. We decided to take some shots at Mystic Hills to go along with Andrew’s other shots on campus. The Culver colors in the uniform look great against the backdrop of the course. We also learned that Andrew is a very talented golfer. Ginny noted that Andrew has the most natural smile. Andrew and his mom were laid back, so easy to work with, and kind; we are looking forward to seeing him go through the gate in 2011.
