Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball vs. South Bend Washington
This afternoon, the CGA Varsity Softball team played their first home game against South Bend Washington High School. Due to other commitments this afternoon, I could only stay for parts of the game, but what I saw, both teams played well. Culver Academy Rugby Photos: CMA JV Rugby vs. North Central
In the second rugby match of the day, the Culver Academy Eagles played against the JV Rugby Team of the North Central Panthers. The weather was great and both teams played well. It was exciting to watch and I’m thankful that Spring Sports have started and I’m back to shooting outdoor events. Culver Indiana Photography: Academy Horses on Break
Today, Ginny and I decided to take a short break from work and take some pictures of the horses that were out in one of Culver Academies’ fields. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and I think the horses liked the company, though they get a little bashful around clicking cameras. Here are a handful of the shots we took. Enjoy!
Culver Indiana Photography: Sunsets and Full Moon in Culver
Yesterday and today, Ginny and I went over to Culver Academies campus and took some shots just at sunset. Tonight, we were fortunate enough to enjoy a full moon as it rose over the lake and cast a golden glow across campus. This is a collection of our shots on campus during this time of the evening when all is quiet on campus. It has been especially quiet the past two days, as the kids and faculty/staff are on Spring Break. It’s a beautiful time of the day to take a few moments to capture the quiet calm of campus and the lake. Ginny wanted to photograph all of the trees on campus. Culver Indiana Senior Pictures: Kirsten Senior Pictures
Today, Ginny and I photographed Kirsten, and senior at Culver Girls Academy here in Culver, Indiana. We had Culver’s campus all to ourselves, as students were on Spring break. Kirsten donned her Dress As, her Varsity sweater, and a casual outfit. We were impressed by how many gold As she had on her blazer! Kirsten rows for the crew team, so we took a few shots by the naval building and in the water. We had a great time with her and her mom. Thank you both for your laid back attitude and kindness. Ginny and I enjoyed meeting both of you, and we think Kirsten is as beautiful inside as she is outside. Best of luck next year in college, Kirsten!
Culver Indiana Senior Pictures: Sdao Senior Pictures
Today, Ginny and I shot Culver Academy senior Jonathon Sdao at the Culver Memorial Legion Building and on the shores of Lake Maxinkuckee. Jonathon was a patient, willing sport throughout the shoot. Getting the lighting just right in the Legion Building took some trial and error and a whole lot of adjustments to get the results that we wanted. (For those not familiar with the building, it is an older building with stone walls throughout. It is a beautiful building though it does preset some challenges for photographers.) We managed though and ended up with some great shots. We wish Jonathon and his family the best as they bid Culver farewell in the coming months.
Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CGA U19 Hockey vs. Ohio Flames
This weekend, the CGA U19 Hockey team hosting a tournament with 6 teams competing on Culver Academy’s campus. Shown below are some photos from the first game that featured Culver playing against the Ohio Flames. It was a great game, even though the girls could not pull off a win. Culver Academy Horsemanship Photos: Cupid’s Challenge 2010
This weekend, the Culver Academy JV and Varsity Jumping teams hosted the 2010 Cupid’s Challenge Horse Show. This is an annual show at Culver’s Riding Hall in which 7 or 8 teams teams travel to Culver to participate. I believe that Culver placed well overall, though with 14 classes competeting on both Friday and Saturday, I’m honestly not sure what the final results ended up being. I do know from talking with several of the parents and coaches from the visiting teams that the kids love this show and look forward to it each year. I’d like to recognize everyone that works in the Horsemanship Department for a great tournament, as this truly was a group effort on their part to put on this show. It is also worth noting that the Lady Equestrienne Team from Notre Dame graciously came down for the weekend to assist.
