Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CGA U16 Hockey vs. Victory Honda
This afternoon, the CGA U16 hockey team played Victory Honda for the second time this weekend on Culver Academy’s campus. In a thrilling, fast-paced game, the Eagles could not pull out a win. Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CGA U16 Hockey vs. Victory Honda
Today was the first hockey game for the CGA U16 team. The girls played a great game thatremained 0-0 for most of the game. With only a few minutes left in the game, the Victory Honda team scored the first goal of the game. Unfortunately, the CGA girls never tied the score. Culver Academy Soccer Photos: CGA Varsity Soccer Regionals
This evening the CGA Varsity Soccer team traveled to South Bend to compete in the State Regional Tournament against the South Bend Riley soccer team. Both teams played hard and fair, though Riley proved to be a tough opponent. Culver lost 2 to 1. One of the excitements of the game was when there was only 8 minutes left in the game and Culver scored their goal on a long penalty shot. With this goal, you could see the players’ determination change on the field. For the girls who had been playing for 72 minutes, there was a new found energy as they knew there was a chance of scoring again to tie the game. Riley found that same energy though with their efforts to keep Culver from scorring a second goal. The last eight minutes were intense and fun to watch though the outcome was not what we had hoped for. I’ve posted more photos at www.culverphotos.com. Until I research ISHAA’s tournament rules further, my photos from tonight’s game are only for viewing and will not be sold. I hope to clarify things in the next few days.
Culver Academy Photographer: Cross Country Sectionals at Culver Academy
This afternoon, Culver Academy hosted the Regional Tournament for boys and girls cross country. With clear skies and over a dozen schools being represented, it was a great success. I primarily focused on shooting the Culver Community School Corporation and Culver Academy teams. Instead of creating four sperate blog entires (CCHS Boys, CCHS Girls, CHA Boys, and CGA Girls), I’ve decided to bunch everything into a single entry. On www.culverphotos.com. the photos have been divided out by school and team for easier viewing. I believe that Culver Academy placed first, second, and third in the boys event and first and second in the girls.
Culver Academy Photographer: Garrison Parade
It was another great day for a parade! Two Sundays in a row, the weather has cooperated with sunny skies. Once again, the corp of cadets and coeds looked surprisingly good considering how early in the school year it is. For this parade, not only were the troops and batteries mounted, but the girls flag corp was also included. This parade was the final event of the 2009 Fall Parent’s Weekend. Culver Academy Parent’s Weekend Photos: CGA Drill Team Performance

Culver Academy Soccer Photos: CGA JV Soccer vs. Mishawaka Marian
It was a nice afternoon for a soccer game as the CGA Girl’s JV Soccer Team hosted Mishawaka Marian at Culver. The girls played well with some great action on the field, but they could not catch up with Marian. It was obvious that the Marian team has been playing together as a team for quite some time as their passing skillls and ability to move the ball up the field were unbelievable. Marian scored the first goal in the first two minutes of the game. The Culver Girls team never gave up. The final score I believe was 1-5. Culver Academy Photographer: Horsemanship Weekend- Equestriennes
There is something to be said about the beauty of a well cared for, well groomed horse in motion. This evening, I was fortunate enough to watch, what I believe was, the first performance of the 2009-2010 school year of the Culver Girls Academy Equenstrienne team. As they always done, the CGA Equestriennes put on a great show coreographed with music from the Lancer band. This was one of the events scheduled during the Vaugn Equestrienne Center dedication weekend. For those not familiar with the Equestriennes, they are an Honor organization dressage team made up of female riders enrolled in Riding at Culver Academy. They are the female equivalant of the Lancers which has been around Culver since the 1930s. I’ve posted some photos here but there are more at www.culverphotos.com. If you happen to be looking for better photos of the Equestriennes, please vist the Honor Organizations section on www.culverphotos.com and look at the photos taken from the outdoor performances last Spring. With natural, sunny light, these photos turned out wonderful.
