Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CGA Varsity Lacrosse vs. Sacred Heart
This morning started with a lacrosse game between the CGA Varsity Lacrosse team and the Sacred Heart team. It was cold! Thought I had on three layers and gloves, I couldn’t feel my feet or hands by the time the game was over. I felt bad for the girls as they were obviously struggling to stay warm when not running on the field.
The lacrosse team from Sacred Heart is a very good team that provided a challenge for Culver and made for a fun game to watch. Sacred Heart started off by scoring early. Culver answered by scroring two quick goals in less than a minute. After that, Culver stayed strong and maintained a multiple-point lead. This continued until midway through the second half when Culver started to struggle a bit. Sacred Heart tied up the game in the last 10 minutes of the game, and they ultimately won by one goal. The final score was 8 to 9.

Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CGA Varsity Lacrosse vs. Zionsville
Last night, the Culver Girls Academy Lacrosse team hosted Zionsville High School. Like the Varsity Men’s team, the girls dominated their game, though the Zionsville team played a tough game. I think the final score for this game was 13-4 with the lady Eagles winning. Ginny likes the shots of the girls, as she says, “they look fierce.” Ginny was an athlete at Culver but never got to play lacrosse, as it wasn’t a sport at Culver in our days there, but I know she would have loved it. She was into running at Culver and involved in sports that required speed and fierceness (basketball and soccer). So, to the girls of lacrosse, a former athlete at Culver thinks you are fierce. Keep that fierceness all the way to state! You can find more pictures of this game at http://www.culverphotos.com/5_7_10_cgalacrosse.
Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CGA Varsity Lacrosse vs. Grosse Pointe
This afternoon, to wind up the Culver Academy Lacrosse Tournament, the CGA Varsity Lacrosse Team played against Grosse Pointe in a scrimmage game. Due to IHSAA regulations, the teams could not keep score because of the number of games that each team had played this week. The weather was great, and both teams appeared to be evenly matched. Not knowing the score, I’m not sure which team played better. Regardless, I think that the score would have been close.

Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA JV Softball vs. John Glenn
This afternoon, I had to decide between shooting the CGA JV Softball game or the CMA Varsity Baseball game. As this was the first home game for the Culver JV Softball team, I decided to shoot their game. Their season is shorter than many of the other teams so I wanted to get photos of them while I had the chance.
It was a beautiful night, sunny and not too hot, in Culver for the CGA Eagles’ first JV Softball game of the season as they hosted John Glenn High School. The girls played their hearts out and had a lot of fun and showed great sportsmanship even though they didn’t get the result they wanted. The Culver’s JV Softball team is a very new team. I’m told that they have a few girls playing that have never played softball before. Knowing this, I stopped paying attention to the score and focused on how the girls played and interacted with one another as a team. From my vantage point, they seemed to get along and still enjoy the game. And, they have the groundwork to come together as a team. I’ve posted a few of my favorite photos here. Culver Academy Lacrosse Photos: CGA Varsity Lacrosse vs. Noblesville
This morning, as part of a lacrosse tournamanet, the CGA Varsity Lacrosse team played against the Noblesville High School for the first game of the event hosted at Culver Academies. The CGA Eagles played well and won the game 9-to-6. There are some photos here; more are posted at http://www.culverphotos.com/p947772495.
Culver Academy Tennis Photos: CGA Tennis vs. Crown Point
This eveing, the CGA Tennis Team hosted Crwon Point in a match at Culver Academies. I wish that I could tell you how the girls played, but tennis is one of those sports that I know very little about. With 12 to 14 games being played at once, I think that even if I knew tennis better, I still probably wouldn’t be able to provide an acurate account until everything was over and stat sheets were available. Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball vs. South Bend Adams
This evening, the CGA Varsity softball team hosted South Bend Adams in Culver. This is one of those games where I’m not going to report the score because it was not good. From the beginning, the CGA Eagles looked tired and worn out. I’m told that this is their 4th or 5th game in the past 7 days. I’d love to see the girls get some down time but with another game tomorrow, one on Thursday, and one on Saturday, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen this week. I’ve posted some photos here; there more are at http://www.culverphotos.com/p435526442. Hang tough lady Eagles!
Culver Academy Softball Photos: CGA Varsity Softball vs. South Bend Washington
This afternoon, the CGA Varsity Softball team played their first home game against South Bend Washington High School. Due to other commitments this afternoon, I could only stay for parts of the game, but what I saw, both teams played well. I’ve posted some photos here; there are more at http://www.culverphotos.com/p1020393564.
Culver Indiana Photography: Sunsets and Full Moon in Culver
Yesterday and today, Ginny and I went over to Culver Academies campus and took some shots just at sunset. Tonight, we were fortunate enough to enjoy a full moon as it rose over the lake and cast a golden glow across campus. This is a collection of our shots on campus during this time of the evening when all is quiet on campus. It has been especially quiet the past two days, as the kids and faculty/staff are on Spring Break. It’s a beautiful time of the day to take a few moments to capture the quiet calm of campus and the lake. Ginny wanted to photograph all of the trees on campus. We hope you enjoy this collection of moments at sunset on the lake and beautiful Culver Academies campus.
Culver Academy Hockey Photos: CGA U19 Hockey vs. Traverse City
The second hockey game of the afternoon was the CGA U19 team that played against Traverse City. The girls played well with the CGA team dominating the entire game. I’m not sure what the final score was, but with three minutes left in the game, Culver was up by 8 goals. I’ve posted some photos here; you can find more in the Culver Academies sports gallery at www.culverphotos.com.
